If you have multiple monitors, spread them around your screens to various locations. Now, open a few (or more) File Explorer windows. Make sure this option is checked and hit “Apply” and “Ok” at the bottom right of the window. You are going to scroll down (it’s in alphabetical order, based on the first word of each option) until you find “Restore previous folder windows at logon”. Within this window, you are going to click on its “View” tab and this will produce a list of options. This is going to result in a popup filled with options pertaining to File Explorer. Then, find the “Options” icon to the right of the ribbon menu and click on it. Simple open File Explorer and click the “View” tab at the top. Setting Windows 10 up to do this is quite easy. Windows will even restore them onto their specific screens if using multiple monitors. If you have multiple File Explorer windows open for a project (or various projects) that you are working on, you can make sure that Windows restores those windows that were open during a reboot process. For now, there are only a few things that can be restored after a reboot. The ability is still quite limited but the outlook looks promising in the coming years.

However, certain companies (including Microsoft) are working on ways to allow you to remain in place so that you can go right back into what you are working on after a reboot.
